This years' PTSA sponsored Challenger British Soccer Camp kicked off this evening as 9 British soccer coaches arrived in Peters Township for the July 16 - 20 soccer camp being held at Rees Park. Over 180 PTSA players are registered to participate. The camp is one of over 1500 British Soccer Camp programs that Challenger Sports Corporation put on each year.
These 9 British soccer coaches are amongst over 500 professional soccer coaches from Great Britain, who fly to the US to help promote the sport that they have spent their whole lives playing. From July 12th thru July 16th the boys and girls of Peters Township Soccer Association will have the opportunity to be coached by some of these coaches in a week long camp. Players will receive instruction to improve their: footwork, passing, dribbling, shooting, heading and tackling and will also take part in the daily tournament culminating in the ever popular World Cup finals, played during the camp closing ceremonies on the last day of camp. During the week, the players will also take part in a program of educational and fun camp break activities, learning more about the sport of soccer, about Europe and about sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play.
