As requested by our Fields Director and Adopt-a-Field Coordinator, please forward this email message to all Coaches with a request they forward it to Players' Parents.

PTSA Coaches and Parents,

The Peters Township Soccer Association is looking for a soccer parent that has experience in the turf maintenance field.  We are asking any individuals with experience to spend some time with our Fields Director in an advisory role to help establish and maintain a good field protocol within our organization and in conjunction with a fields' maintenance program by Peters Township Parks & Recreation Department.

We are also looking for individuals that would like to be part of our fields maintenance crew of volunteers.  No experience is needed, just a willingness to help out a few times a year lining and repairing the fields.

If there is any interest, please contact Steve Magnotti @ sgm@firepatio.com or David Vaughan @ dvaughan15@gmail .

Fwd: Pt Soccer Coaching

Would any of my U8 coaches be interested in some help from a High School Junior soccer player?
If so, let me know as soon as possible - before he gets gobbled up by somebody else.

Alex,

Thanks for volunteering ... I hope one of our League Commissioners has a need for your being a coach or assistant.  Also, the background clearances required would only apply to you if you are 18 years or older.  Let me know how this turns out.

If for some reason you aren't selected for a coaching position, I have some other ideas that you could participate in with PTSA for community service credit (such as helping with Street Soccer, our end-of-season In-house Tournaments, our summer camp managed by Challenger Sports, etc.)

Thanks again.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well in this winter weather.

We have a Teen Center scheduled for this Friday February 15th.  We are about 10 – 12 chaperones short to be able to actually have the event.  Could you help us get the word out that we are desperate for chaperones, and that if we do not get enough, we will have to cancel.  If you have access to parents, coaches etc that may be willing to help, please have them contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 724-942-5000.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Michele

Commissioners (and Board Members),

There is a TOPSoccer event coming up on Saturday, March 22nd.  The venue will be Hempfield Township Athletic Complex.  Attached is information and registration form.  Please forward this to all Coaches with a request they send it to all players' families in case they know of a special needs soccer player that might enjoy participating.

For those unfamiliar with US Youth Soccer's TOPSoccer, it is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4-19, who has a mental or physical disability. Its goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US YOUTH SOCCER family.

Please get the word out on the March 22nd event ... since we've not had a TOPSoccer program in PTSA, my guess is there are interested players in Peters Township who might not be aware of this wonderful program.

Thanks.

Fwd: Fw: PTSA Entry Level Referee Course - FORWARD TO COACHES / PLAYERS

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Steve Glovier PTSA <sglovierptsa@verizon.net>

Subject: Fw: PTSA Entry Level Referee Course - FORWARD TO COACHES / PLAYERS
To: Steve Glovier PTSA <sglovierptsa@verizon.net>

PTSA BOD Members and Commissioners:

Please ask our coaches to send the below reminder regarding our upcoming referee certification class to our players.  At this time we have 25 registrations, but that is not enough to cover all of our games.

It is very important that PTSA have a large pool of referees as each weekend we must fill 80 to 90 referee slots.  Please forward the below message to all of your coaches (except for Grasshopper and U8 - players must be 10 years old to referee a U8 game) and ask them to forward this on to all of their players.

THANK YOU!!

Peters Township Soccer Association (PTSA) is holding an Entry Level Referee Certification course on Friday, February 29th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday, March 1st from 9:00am to 5:00pm for new referees.

Individuals who attend this 2 day course and pass the test at the end of the course with at least a 75% will become a certified Grade 9 soccer referee.

PTSA has one of the finest groups of soccer referees.  Each of these individuals have:
  • A greater understanding of the game of soccer
  • Improved confidence and leadership skills
  • A very high paying job
To register for this course please go to the PA West e-Referee System at https://ssl.hammersoccer.com/PAwestref/RefereeClinics.asp

Students must attend both days and pass the test at the end of the course with a 75% or higher.

If you cannot attend this course, check the PA West e-Referee System for classes being held in nearby communities.

Please contact Steve Glovier, PTSA Referee Coordinator, at sglovierptsa@verizon.net or 724-942-3207 for further information.

Board Members & Commissioners,

Here's a reminder regarding next week's national soccer workshop taking place in Pittsburgh's Convention Center ... it would be great if some of you could attend ... Day Passes are available for $25.  By copy of this email, I'm requesting Chuck Thilges to reimburse from the Training budget (Manny Politis has approved this) any Board Member's Day Pass expense upon their submitting a written request to him.

Commissioners,

Please pass this on to your Coaches too ... the more representation from PTSA the better for our players' development.
