PTSA Commissioners / Board Members,
 
Please send another reminder of the Annual Mtg on June 6th to all Coaches and please respond / have Coaches respond to me whether they (or an Assistant Coach) are attending, or not.  So far, I've had just ten responses from Coaches / Board Members regarding the meeting ... I need more response so appropriate food / beverage planning can occur by Bella Piatto Restaurant.

Commissioners & PTSA Board Members,

Attached is a ballot prepared by the Nominating Committee of the PTSA Board of Directors and endorsed by the Board at tonight's meeting.  This endorsement signifies that the PTSA Board believes the candidates listed are qualified and willing to perform their respective duties. The ballot shall be made available to all voting members at least fifteen (15) days prior to the Annual Meeting which is scheduled to be held on Weds., June 6th from 7:00pm to 9:30pm at Bella Piatto Restaurant (at McDowell Lane and Washington Pike / Rt 19 across from Donaldson's Crossroads).  Appetizers and beverages will be provided.  Please inform me by email whether you will attend the Annual Meeting, or not.  I need this information so we can plan for the food & drink menu at Bella Piatto Restaurant.

Commissioners,

Members having voting rights in general meetings shall be (1) Board of Directors, (2) Appointed Officers, and (3) Coaches (or his/her registered Assistant Coach designated on team roster prior to third week of the season in their absence).  Consequently, please forward this message and form of ballot to all of your Coaches with a request that they inform me by email whether they (or their Assistant Coach in their absence) will attend the Annual Meeting, or not.  I need this information so we can plan for the food & drink menu at Bella Piatto Restaurant.

Subject: Volunteers Needed:  Challenger British Soccer Camp - Jul 16 - 20
Commissioners,
 
Please send an email to all Coaches with a request they ask their team's parents for volunteers to help coordinate this summer's Challenger British Soccer Camp which will take place July 16 - 20.  Jamie Ross is PTSA's Camp Coordinator and has a big need for volunteers to make the camp a success .. we are expecting about 200 soccer player campers this year ... the biggest camp ever for PTSA to manage.  Challenger Sports provides the professional soccer coaches (probably about 10 this year) to manage the soccer aspects of the camp, but Jamie has the huge, huge task of coordinating most everything else from registration promotion to on-site coordination.  Volunteers are needed to help with any of the following aspects:  hosting coaches, helping with first day registration, monitoring the mini-campers (ages 4-6), maintaining water/ice coolers, handling minor injuries (scrapes, bruises, heat exposure), helping with July 15th coaches reception, and other tasks that Jamie can't handle alone (especially since the camp will be held at multiple locations this year due to the size of the camp).  No soccer expertise is required .. just a love of the game and a willingness to help out.  Volunteers should contact Jamie Ross directly at:

Subject: PTSA 2007/08 Travel Team Coaches Needed

Commissioners,
 
PTSA Travel Teams are in need of coaches for the 2007/08 Season.  As you know, Bill Harmon preliminarily recommended formation of 14 Travel Teams based on the number of players that attended a tryout.  However, as of a week ago, Bill had received just 5 applications for head coach.  Please send an email plea to all your In-House coaches (and others you know would make good travel coaches) to consider coaching a travel team next year ... the application form is on the PTSA website and should be submitted to Bill Harmon before next Monday's Board meeting.  Teams that are in need of coaches are U12G, U14G, U15G, U10B (two), U11B, U12B, U14B and U15B.  In the event that the dearth of coaching applications continues, the Board will need to consider alternatives which may include elimination of certain age-group travel teams ... that would be a result that would be very hard to accept.
