U8 Reminders

U8 Coaches:

A reminder on field preparation for game day
It is the responsibility of the coaches of the 9am games to paint the lines on the field prior to game time. Ensure that all U8 fields get lined - not just "your" field for that day. Coordinate with the other 9am coaches as necessary. A good idea is to delegate this work to some of the parents on your team.

Also, I've listed below some very important reminders to pass onto your teams before the Spring season gets underway.

Field Diagram
There is a new Peterswood Soccer Complex (PSC) field diagram. We rotated the fields 90 degrees clockwise from the fall season.

Spectators
Spectators should be located on the opposite side of the field from the team benches. Spectators should refrain from yelling out instructions and should not be located behind the goals.

Cleats
Metal cleats cannot be used. Also, baseball and football cleats with a "toe-cleat" cannot be used.

Referees
The referees are typically kids and are part of the learning process. Do not "make calls" for them. Please be patient and give them your respect. Always encourage them to be loud and vocal (as they are often timid).

Games
We play with 4 field players and a goalie (a.k.a. 5v5). Remember, a goal cannot be scored directly from a kick off. Get them to make a pass on kickoffs. Substitutions are unlimited. Everyone should get equal playing time. Make sure the kids shake hands and say Good Game after the game.
