Subject: Peters Township Parks & Recreation Board Opening
All,
I understand from Pat Airhart that the Peters Township Parks & Recreation Board is expected to have three openings for terms beginning January 2008. It would be great to get some more soccer oriented people as Board Members to be advocates for positions taken by PTSA, espeially regarding field maintenance, availability of gym space at the PTCC, etc. A description on the Board role and activities is below. Interested persons should contact the Township Manager regarding their interest in serving:

Parks and Recreation Board
The Parks and Recreation Board is an advisory board consisting of seven members. Three of the members are recommended by the Peters Township School District. All of the members are appointed by Council and serve a three year term. The Parks and Recreation Board meets in the CRC the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM at 700 Meredith Drive, Venetia, PA 15367.
The Parks and Recreation Board recommends policies and programs designed to meet the leisure needs of all age groups. The Board assists in reviewing proposed improvements to the Township's park system. Open spaces proposed for dedication by developers are also recommended by the Board members.
